Parent Partner – WV Birth to Three, RAU 6

Summary

The Parent Partner acts as a liaison with eligible WV BTT families providing support for the children and families and linking the families to additional resources available in their community and establishing working relationships with other existing parent and early childhood agencies. The Parent Partner is also responsible for creating and maintaining the RAU Central Resource Directory. The position will be based in our Ronceverte, WV office and encompass the following counties: Braxton, Greenbrier, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Summers and Webster counties.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Must be a parent of a child/children who was eligible for and received either WVBTT or preschool special education services.
  • Must complete Orientation to the WV Birth to Three, RAU training, and two days of required training.
  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Special Education or related field preferred.
  • Have or be eligible for state certification through the West Virginia Early Care and Education Professional Development System.
  • Work experience in an early childhood education or special education.
  • Prior experience and ability to work with people from varied socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Prior experience and willingness to work with people of cultural, ethnic, and racial diversity.
  • Willingness to travel to seven counties as needed.
  • Be willing to provide training to adults working with children.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with dependable transportation and minimum automobile liability insurance and a clear criminal background and maltreatment APS/CPS check. Among other State and Federal requirements.

Rate of Pay

Starting at $15.00 depending on qualifications
