MountainHeart Child Care Resource & Referral provides:

  • Information on selecting quality child care for their child’s individual needs.
  • Assist eligible parents with available federal and state funds for child care services.
  • Connect parents with parent support or parent focus groups.
  • Provide referral lists for licensed day care centers, registered family day care homes, and certified family day care facilities.
  • Provide a toll-free number for consultation and accessing current information and resources.
  • Provide current information on a variety of issues such as child development, health, immunizations, childhood illnesses, safety, free screenings, self esteem, discipline and behavior management.
  • Assistance in locating before and after school care for older children.
  • Assistance in locating child care for children with special needs.
  • Provide Information on making good educational choices for children.
  • Provide access to child care resource library materials such as parenting videos, books, and magazines.

Help Me Grow West Virginia

Help Me Grow West Virginia

Help Me Grow is a FREE referral service that connects families with critical developmental resources for their children birth through five years. The goal of Help Me Grow is to successfully identify children at-risk and link them to the help they need.

Help Me Grow offers parents and medical providers:

  • Referral line – Get expert advice and a referral to community resources to help support early childhood development; and
  • Ages and Stages Screening Questionnaire – 3 (ASQ-3)TM – A developmental screening tool that’s endorsed by West Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and available upon request.

Help Me Grow is part of a national program that connects families to resources right here in West Virginia. The program is funded by the Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health, West Virginia Home Visitation Program.
