What Is Parents As Teachers?

Parents as Teachers is a home visiting program that serve families from prenatal through kindergarten to assists parents to obtain age-appropriate health and development information. The program offers support to families by enabling parents to play a more active role in their child’s language, intellectual, social, and motor skills development. Parents as Teachers approach is to strengthen families through an evidence-based curriculum.

Who Is Eligible?

To qualify for the Parents as Teachers program the applicant must be currently pregnant or have a child that is up to 5 years old. The Parents as Teachers services do not have income guidelines, but prioritize teen mothers, at risk families, and children with developmental delays.
